This stallion captivates with an incomparable presence. A compact, athletic, and beautifully presented young stallion with nearly ideal conformation, excellent X-rays, and a correct, stable foundation. At his presentations, he impresses with elegance, light-footedness, and powerful movement, all delivered with calmness and consistent engagement. His expansive walk is particularly noteworthy. Under saddle, he continues to increasingly showcase his strengths. At the licensing, commissioner Heike Kemmer commented: “With this wonderful temperament, he will make life easy for his rider one day.”
His sire, Zauberlehrling PS, carries the legacy of the highly successful Grand Prix horse Glock’s Zonik, a World Cup finalist, participant at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, and the European Championships, who also sired 17 licensed sons. In the third generation, the blood of the Olympic stallion Blue Hors Zack appears, who ranks 5th in the WBFSH sire rankings with 42 licensed sons and 37 Grand Prix-winning offspring.
The dam of Franz Ferdinand, Woodlander Dornröschen, competed successfully in international Grand Prix sport. The mare line Nikaza is both breeding-proven and sport-secured: licensed stallions such as the premium stallion Friedrich der Große by For Romance II, Deparon by Deveraux, and Val Rouge by Valverde descend from this maternal line. Successful Grand Prix horses from this line include Hot Date by Hotlin, Farrell by Fabregas, and Golden Choice DC by Grand Cru.
After successfully completing his stallion performance test, we are now looking forward to the first competition season with this shining star.
